How to Connect Vaillant Heat Pumps and Boilers with the Zerofy App
Preconditions:
- Your Vaillant heating system should be internet-enabled and compatible with cloud connectivity.
- You need your device’s serial number to connect.
Finding Your Serial Number
The serial number is typically a 28-character code starting with “21” and ending with the letter ‘N’ followed by a single digit.
Where to find it:
| Device Type | Location |
|---|---|
| Boilers | Underneath the boiler or on the control panel |
| Heat Pumps (Outdoor Unit) | On the back of the unit |
| Heat Pumps (Indoor Unit) | On the back of the control box |
The serial number can also be found in the benchmark logbook provided by your installer after installation.
Connecting Your Vaillant System with Zerofy

Features and Things to Know
With Vaillant integration, you can:
- Monitor your heat pump or boiler remotely.
- View energy consumption and heating data.
- Monitor and adjust temperatures directly from the app.
- Optimize heating efficiency based on energy prices and solar production.
Visible Devices
For compatible heat pumps, two devices will appear in Zerofy:
- Space Heating – controls and monitors the heating circuit
- Hot Water Tank – controls and monitors the domestic hot water
Autopilot Integration
The Autopilot currently controls the hot water tank. It automatically boosts hot water production when:
- Electricity prices are low
- Excess solar energy is available
This helps maximize self-consumption and reduce energy costs without any manual intervention.
